About Us

Educational Enrichment Systems, Inc. (EES) is a non-profit child development agency that has been offering early education programs to low-income, working families of San Diego County since 1979. EES is proud of the stability, innovation, and quality that we have brought to the early childhood education of San Diego children for 30 years. One of the great challenges facing low-income families is finding quality childcare for their children. Childcare is the linchpin in a family’s future, allowing parents to work while knowing their children are well taken care of and on the right path for subsequent success in their educational careers.

EES offers a wide range of constructive experiences for children ages birth through five, provides a competent and caring staff, and has access to a variety of support services available to parents. Parent participation plays a large role in our programs because we recognize that the family has the most influence on a child's growth and ability to learn.

The majority of funding for EES programs is provided by the California Department of Education. Given the low reimbursement rate from the state, EES often reaches out to local community foundations and residents to be able to increase the quality of preschool care for our communities’ most needy children. Other funding comes from the USDA Child Care Food Program, parent tuition, private foundations, and individual donations. EES is certified by the San Diego Chapter of United Way.

EES operates on a nondiscriminatory basis and does not base enrollment on race, age, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability or veteran status.
