John Sidell Memorial Fund
John Sidell was a Board member and the President of EES for 12 years, when he suddenly passed away on October 21, 2003. John had practiced law in San Diego since 1973 and was a respected attorney and partner at Gordon & Rees, LLP. John’s family requested that all donations be made to Educational Enrichment Systems, Inc. and therefore the John B. Sidell Memorial Fund was established.
EES Early Childhood Family Literacy Training Program
The Family Literacy Program is a comprehensive program that addresses literacy as a family affair, extending its efforts to each and every member individually. For many of the families served by EES, family literacy entails much more that simply handing books to families. Instead, the agency must assist children and their parents individually and collectively if such a vision is to be realized. The four components used to attain true family literacy are:
The agency is now poised to implement a full family literacy program in each of its four centers. Toward that end, EES is now seeking the funding to realize its philosophy of helping families achieve full literacy for each and every member.
